Geranium 'Azure Rush'

Geranium 'Azure Rush'

Cranesbill

10365770662199|Geranium 'Azure Rush'|Cranesbill|

With Geranium wallichianum as one of the parents and being a sport of Geranium x 'Rozanne', this selection shows like a compact form of 'Rozanne' with prolonged blooming season and showy blue flowers with that distinct white eye. The compact habit suits smaller spaces.

The blue flowers with white eye are characteristic of the wallichianum parent. More compact than the extremely popular 'Rozanne' making it suitable for smaller gardens. The extended flowering period provides months of colour.

Geranium 'Patricia'

Geranium 'Patricia'

Cranesbill

10365770727735|Geranium 'Patricia'|Cranesbill|

A fantastic cranesbill with superb colour similar to Geranium psilostemon, which is one of its parents, but shorter in stature, much longer blooming, and sterile. The leaves turn orange and red in autumn. Beautiful with blues, grays, anything really. The magenta flowers have dark eyes.

RHS Award of Garden Merit and Great Plant Pick. The sterility means no self-seeding issues. The extended bloom period surpasses the parent. The autumn colour adds seasonal interest. One of the best hybrid geraniums combining colour, form, and extended flowering. Works with wide range of colour combinations.

Geranium clarkei 'Kashmir White'

Geranium clarkei 'Kashmir White'

Cranesbill

10365770858807|Geranium clarkei 'Kashmir White'|Cranesbill|

Not as vigorous as species but good grower forming lush mounds with handsome foliage making it useful for larger weed-smothering drifts. Covered with large four to five centimetre diameter white upward-facing flowers with contrasting pale lilac veins. Can self-seed moderately under favourable conditions.

Removal of spent flowers prevents seeding and can generate sparse floral display later in season. The large white flowers with lilac veining are particularly attractive. The lush foliage creates substantial drifts. Less vigorous than species makes it more manageable. Suitable for groundcover in larger spaces.

Bigroot Geranium

10365770891575|Geranium macrorrhizum 'Bevan's Variety'|Bigroot Geranium|

One of the big-root geraniums valued for extreme toughness and adaptability. Fragrant semi-evergreen foliage with mosquito-repelling qualities. Try rubbing leaves on exposed skin. Flowers briefly but foliage provides season-long interest. Easy to contain by pulling stems from beneath clump.

On the top-ten list of most abuse-tolerant plants. Only prolonged drought temporarily sets them back. Combines easily with other plants in sun or shade. Doesn't flop, requires no credentials to grow. Great Plant Pick. The magenta-pink flowers of this selection appear in late spring.
