A selected form with flower spikes in soft rose-pink tones held above whorled foliage. The narrow, serrated leaflets are arranged in neat whorls along upright stems. Plants develop slowly over several growing seasons before producing their full display of slender terminal racemes surrounded by additional whorls of flowering spires.
Performs best in moisture-retentive soils that drain well. Can reach considerable height in favourable conditions but may benefit from a Chelsea chop in late May to reduce final stature by approximately twenty percent and create sturdier growth. Emerges late in spring so care should be taken not to damage crowns during early season border work. Valued for naturalistic plantings and borders where vertical form and late summer interest are desired.
